Life’s Most Challenging Questions

Life provides many questions that, at some point, will leave you wanting for answers. This is where life skills counselling proves to be a valuable asset. To help relieve yourself of these questions, here are a few that you might have asked yourself recently:

1. What am I doing? Where am I going?

A. often in life we feel dissolution and despair at where we are in life. We can wonder how we got to such a place of discontent. Without a direction in life, we can continue to ‘drift’ along, days blend into each other, without the sense of achievement or fulfilment. There is almost a sense of ‘numbing-ness” to your daily functions. This increases the chance for depression symptoms to surface, so to prevent this happening it is important to have a healthy life balance – we can focus too much on the daily grind and forget the importance of having fun. You need to recognise where you are, what you are doing, and where it is you would like to be and achieve. This can be difficult to work through on your own. 2. I don’t know what to do to change the way I feel!

A. Well, usually there is an invisible pattern of destructive behaviours that lie in our subconscious that is very useful in sabotaging our life. We continue to do what is not good for us, accept bad behaviours from others, and tolerate intolerable situations. Anxiety and Panic are likely to appear as a result. What can I do about it? Stop, look and listen to your body. It talks to you. We disregard this most important conversation within ourselves, putting down these ‘nagging feelings’ to a silly notion of nonsense.
